    ABOUT JEAN EDDY LEROY

I am a devoted man of faith and a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce. I have witnessed firsthand our city's journey, facing both challenges and triumphs, which has deepened my love and commitment to this community. My educational background from St. Lucie County Public Schools and Indian River State College has instilled in me the values of hard work, leadership, and dedication to public service. These principles guide my vision for the future of Fort Pierce.

My experience in public service has provided me with insights into the real issues affecting our residents. I have worked tirelessly to ensure that families feel safe, respected, and supported. Transitioning into education has allowed me to empower our youth and help them succeed. I believe in a future where every voice is heard and every resident has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we can strengthen our neighborhoods, enhance public safety, and foster economic growth while ensuring that our community remains united.

    My Vision for Fort Pierce

    Fiscal Management

Adopt long-term financial planning strategies that maintain healthy reserve funds, prevent costly deferred maintenance, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen transparency and accountability in city budgeting and spending.

    Growth

Promote smart, sustainable growth by modernizing mixed-use zoning policies, encouraging public-private partnerships to fund critical infrastructure, and utilizing tools such as opportunity zones and targeted tax incentives to attract private investment, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy.

    City Services

Modernize city services by upgrading digital infrastructure, optimizing public works operations, and actively incorporating community feedback into decision-making. Implement a 311 system through phone and mobile apps so residents can easily report issues such as potholes, drainage problems, or broken streetlights and track resolution progress in real time. Improve government websites and expand self-service kiosks to reduce wait times for permits, licenses, and utility payments. Utilize secure, transparent data collection platforms such as Alchemer to measure resident satisfaction and identify service bottlenecks efficiently and cost-effectively.

    Housing and Affordability

Address housing affordability by reforming outdated zoning codes, streamlining project approvals, and supporting the development of affordable and workforce housing. Expanding housing supply can reduce market pressure, while targeted local investments help ensure longtime and marginalized residents are not displaced as the community grows.

    Strengthened Public Service

Improve officer retention and morale by offering competitive compensation, flexible work schedules, expanded mental health resources, and regular wellness checkups. Create clear pathways for professional development while fostering a supportive, transparent workplace culture where public servants feel respected, valued, and supported by leadership.

The only path to victory is full community turnout. Every single vote matters.

Did you know that voting by mail increases turnout because it serves as a reminder to voters? Requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot helps keep voting top of mind, and you can still choose to vote early in person or simply drop off your completed ballot securely.

Please also remind your friends and family to register and make a plan to vote.
